Building Trust
It is not a brag to say that trust-building is a talent of mine. I think it is because I genuinely keep my ego in check, I share my story of growth with teachers and make sure they know that I am there to support their learning and the learning of their students. I am not an evaluator, I am a supporter of learning.
Also, the more visible I am in classrooms, the more teachers trust that I know them, their students and the challenges I can help them find solutions for.
Authentic Learning Experiences
Honestly, I have trouble saying what I will do to support teachers with planning and delivering authentic learning experiences because every situation is different. I can say that I make a way to work with all teachers to: 1) Assess their needs 2) Gather and organize materials and resources that teachers can choose from to create experience for their students and 3) Co-plan lessons that ensure engagement based on student and teacher needs.
Take a look at the sample lesson provided here that was designed to support teaching grade-level math to students who are English language learners at levels 1-2.
Digital Learning & Personalized Support
"Common Sense Media" isn't just a superb website to help teachers and student learn about how to use technology safely, it is also a good philosophy.
As I learn how teachers and students are using their devices to access learning sites and apps, I can provide common sense practices to keep our students and teachers safe while online. I can also help explain why some things are blocked and find alternatives where appropriate.
PWCS has a great page that can help support me in my efforts to keep us safe online.
